Hunting for Truth!

If you have ever been deer hunting you know that it takes a lot of preparation. You have to first buy your tags, then site in your guns, then get all the clothes you need, then find out where you are going, then actually get there and work hard to find the game. It's something that takes a lot of thought and determination. Once you have done all those things it starts getting easier and you get more and more excited for what's next, shooting the deer! Its exciting to be hiking and find where the deer are at. You get your gun all ready and set yourself in a good position to have the best shot possible. As you draw up your gun, throw off the safety and have the deer in your sights all you have to do is pull the trigger.

There you are. You've met your goal and its a wonderful feeling. Getting a deer is always so exciting and you can't wait to do it again.
Deer hunting is a lot like finding for yourself if the Book of Mormon is true. It takes constant reading and preparation. You have to have the materials you need and the determination that is necessary. After you have put a lot of thought into it and have the excitement and desire to seek out the truth then you pray.
"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Moroni 10:4).
This scripture promises us that when we read and prepare ourselves that if we want to know the truth that all we have to do is ask, and we will receive our answer. Once we have done the things we need to do and we have the truth in our sights, it is easy to shoot.
We are all hunting for Truth and I know that if we do our part that God will answer our prayers. We all want the big ones and if we follow God's council we are guaranteed to come off conqueror.

Bed of Lies

"Bed of Lies"
No, I would not sleep in this bed of lies
So toss me out and turn in
And there'll be no rest for these tired eyes
I'm marking it down to learning
I am

I don't think that I can take another empty moment

I don't think that I can fake another hollow smile

When it's not enough just to be sorry

I don't think that I could take another talk about it

Just like me you got needs

And they're only a whisper away

And we softly surrender

To these lives that we've tendered away

No, I would not sleep in this bed of lies

So toss me out and turn in

And there'll be no rest for these tired eyes

I'm marking it down to learning
I'm marking it down to learning
'Cause I am

I don't wanna be the one who turns the whole thing over

I don't wanna be somewhere where I just don't belong

Where it's not enough just be sorry

Don't you know I feel the darkness closing in

I tried to be more than me

And I gave till it all went away

And we've only surrendered

To the worst part of these winters that we've made

No, I would not sleep in this bed of lies

So toss me out and turn in

And there'll be no rest for these tired eyes

I'm marking it down to learning
I'm marking it down to learning

I am all that I'll ever be

When you lay your hands

Over me but don't go weak on me now

I know that it's weak
But God help me I need this

I will not sleep in this bed of lies

So toss me out and turn in

And there'll be no rest for these tired eyes

I'm marking it down to learning
I'm marking it down to learning

'Cause I am
(Matchbox 20)

This song is all about trying to get away from the lies he is living. Sometimes we find ourselves living a lie that we have to escape from. This task is not easy. It is always hard to get away from past lies and past sins. They constantly weigh heavier on our shoulders the longer we hold onto them and eventually, if they aren't taken care of, they will crush us. There is no easy way to escape from lies, but the only way to completely get rid of them is through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ performed the Atonement for each and every one of us. He endured more pain than any one of us could ever imagine. He paid for our sins so that we could repent and return to live with our Heavenly Father. Not only did he suffer our sins, but he took upon himself our pains and sufferings. All sorrow, worry, pain, stress, depression, anger, frustration, sickness, and sin was paid for by Him. It was not for his own personal glory but for the chance that we would have eternal glory and live with Him again. I hope that we all can remember what Christ did for us and not make it go to waste. Repent and use His infinite atonement so we can one day return to live with our beloved Father in Heaven.

First Things First

Nay Family

My name is Joshua B. Nay and I grew up in American Fork Utah. I have a large family with 4 boys and 3 girls, and I am the third child. My family is a huge part of my life and I am so close to all of them. We all love the outdoors and doing things like hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, four-wheeling, and so many other things. The times we have doing these things always brings us closer together and makes our friendship stronger. I am very blessed to have my family and to be a part of the greatest group of people I know.
Ever since the day I was born my family has planted in my heart a loving testimony of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints.  Because of my loving Heavenly Father I was blessed into a family who were members of this church. My parents strive to teach me and my siblings the importance of this gospel and how it has helped their lives. Through my experiences in life I have come to know for myself that this Church is true and that Jesus Christ's Atonement was necessary for us to return to our Heavenly Father.
Because of the example my wonderful family showed me, I gained a testimony of this church. I am now a Full-time Missionary dedicating two years of my life to serve other people and to serve the Lord in spreading this Gospel to all of his children. Some might think its silly to give two years strictly to the Lord at the age of 19, but I know that God has a plan for me and that this is what He wants for me.
I am serving in the Montana Billings Mission and love it with all my heart. I am currently serving in the town of Dillon, MT. This is my first area and I have only been out for about two months. Already I have learned more about Jesus Christ and His gospel than any other time in my life! I am learning so many life skills and lessons that I will take with me and use for the rest of my life. These things will make me a better man, husband, father, and a better friend. I know that I will always reflect on my experiences while here on my mission so I am trying to be the best missionary I can be. It is important to me that I show my best efforts in these two years because I won't get another opportunity to serve the Lord like this ever again.
I want to bear my testimony and my witness to all of you that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He suffered the pain of all men in the garden of Gethsemane and then was crucified so that we may be resurrected and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. I know that Joseph Smith was just a boy when he received a vision from God the Father and Jesus Christ, but that he had been prepared from the beginning to restore this gospel and translate the Book of Mormon. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, that it has been saved for our time, and that it testifies of Christ and teaches us how to live our life so that we can receive the blessing of Eternal Life. Without a doubt in my mind I know these things to be true and I know that each and every one of you can know for yourself and can receive guidance through these teachings. I leave you with my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
